Supporting LGBTQ Kids at School

Kinder Future supports school district efforts to improve school climate and culture and to facilitate positive outcomes for ALL students. We work with students, families, school and district staff to increase equity and engagement among LGBTQ+ youth and to make schools safer and more supportive for all students.

Lindsey Etheridge, Founder and Director

Lindsey Etheridge is a school social worker and the Founder and Director at Kinder Future, which specializes in partnerships with school districts, working to address the unique needs of gender and sexual minority/LGBTQIA* youth and their families. With over twenty years’ experience in social work, media, communications, and outreach, Lindsey possesses unique insights into affecting human behavior change in small and large ways. Her accomplishments include an Emmy-nominated, bilingual series for PBS, an international anti-stigma campaign with the United Nations, and a Community Impact Award from the National Educational Telecommunications Association.   

Lindsey has experience working with diverse populations in a variety of contexts. Beginning her career as a researcher with a preeminent international human rights law firm, she has worked all over the world in both traditional and non-traditional social work settings and consulted with scores of schools, non-profits, and NGOs. Lindsey is a skilled facilitator with 15 years of experience providing training and facilitation in multiple areas of expertise. Her training style is in depth, meaningful, engaging and authentic.

Lindsey received her Master of Social Work, with highest honors, from the University of Southern California. She earned her Child, Welfare, and Attendance and Pupil Support Services credentials from San Jose State University.
